Thanks to RedComrade on ASC for doing this review.

Well people, this is my first review. As some of you know I've been looking to get into a World War 2 paratrooper look for a while. Well my stuff came today and after looking it over, I thought, HEY!, I'm gonna write a review for anyone interested in getting into WWII stuff.

First a review of the company:

At the Front was brought to my attention by Yuxi. I did some research on the web for any sort of WWII militaria and At the Front was the one finally caught my attention. I stumbled upon their Paratrooper impression and decided to give it a go. At first, I admit the price was a shocker, but I thought to myself, I've got the money so what the hell..A risk I know, but one in the end that turned out for the best.
The ordering system on ATF is not that user friendly. It has the usuals like name, addy etc. But when it comes to the actual order it's not that great. But it isn't the worst I've come across either. Basically if you want to get your order accurate and thorough email or call them. That brings me to my next point, their customer relations was amazing. Everyone I talked to was friendly and forward. They listened and made notes(I heard them hehe) about what I was asking, changing etc., they let me know when approx. my stuff would be mailed out, what they were still waiting on etc. all in all I'd give their customer relations a 10/10. With a quick phone call my order was signed sealed and certified.

The Stuff: Airborne Impression Package(Standard)
For the airborne impression 2 packages were available, the standard and re-inforced. I ordered the standard, due to budget and not seening any huge worthwhile difference. First of all the material is very nice. It's comfortable, and feels durable(I will see how it handles in a game). The coat has 4 large breast pockets, 2 top and 2 bottom. The stitching is a stnadard stitching that you'd find anywhere. The colour of the "BDU's" is known as "Military Regulation OD #7", it is a sort of dark khaki colour, I'd say a half decent colour for woodland and open grassy areas. The pants have 2 large thigh pockets which are slightly larger than the breast pockets. I was hopeing on blousing at the bottoms of the pants but it's not a big issue. The pants are a button up zipper which is much like any BDU trousers you buy. Basically the waist is sized but like the movies the pants "bag out" from the waist down. They are extremely comfortable and feel like they'll wear nicely. So far, because I haven't "Combat" tested them I'm giving them a 9/10. Loosing a point for lack of blousing.

Now for the web gear, I was disappointed in not getting a pistol belt as part of the webbing. What did come with the field gear was the following;
3 Rigger Pouches:Made to carry the M1 Carbine Mags
1 First Aid pouch: For.....first aid...duh
1 Set of suspenders
1 Canteen pouch(No canteen, another disappointment)
1 Shovel sleeve and shovel: Very nice addition to kit
1 Mussette Bag(AKA Backpack)

All field gear was in incredible shape. The reproduction stuff was dated with manufacturer stamps on them, a subtle yet nice touch. I was disappointed in the lack of a pistol belt, so now I have to scrounge one up that is tan and resonably close to the '40's style pistol belt. The shovel is actually sturdy and is a nice touch to finish off the gear. All in all I'm fiving the web gear a 8/10. Due to lack of canteen and pistol belt.

The helmet I left in a class of it's own. For a reconditioned helmet it is in great shape, with a few character scuff marks. The leather of the strapping is in great condition and the inner liner itself is also in very nice condition. The helmet gets a 10/10.

Shipping:
The most important part of any purchase..."HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET HERE huh!?", well I was thoroughly impressed by ATF's speed. It took no more than 2 weeks to get here. It would have been less but they had to wait on my coat. They shipped out on Friday July 4th, I got it Thursday July 10th. A very nice relief. Shipping gets a 10/10
